Sudden Death Questions

iaherper Feb 04, 2009 11:03 AM

Is it all that common?

The reason I'm askin is because my 4yr old female albino just died...She had bred this year and was looking really good, then just died.

This same thing happened to me 3 yrs ago with a Snow female...bred, ovulated, died...

Can anyone give some insight?

Best thing to do is cut them open and see whats going on. I have lost a number of animals in 15 years of breeding reptiles and I always do an my own atopsy you might be surprised at what you will find. I lost two girls back in 06 one was gravid with viable babies the other completely slug bound. I found in both of them where they had ruptured blood vessels and apparrent bled out internally. I wouldn't have know if I hadn't cut them open. Look at like this you will know a little bit more about how there body system reside by doing so.

Good luck and my regrets for your lose it's a risk we take when breeding!
