Hillsborough County, FL Sulfur King

foxturtle Feb 04, 2009 02:30 PM

I just got a new camera and have been playing around with it a little. I posted a picture of this guy when I got him back in 2007, and have reposted the same pic a few times.

I took this picture this morning testing out some of the macro settings on my camera.

For anyone that cares this is an F1 Hillsborough County, FL Florida king from Len Krysko's sulfur line.

That is a beauty. Are the founding w/c stock that yellow/orange?

I saw a couple WC at Len Krysko's place years ago. The founder male "screamed" compared to this one. The WC female I saw had more of a standard FL king pattern and not quite so yellow, but still very light colored. He had an adult captive bred pair that was pretty similar to the one I posted, but perhaps a bit more clean looking (They'd actually be siblings to this one). Most of the wild-caught kings from Hillsborough that I've seen since have been fairly standard looking for Florida kings, though they still average a little lighter and a little more yellow than a typical canefields Florida king.

Wow! You definitely gotta throw up some more pics of that beauty! Maybe even some compare and contrast pics to the other snakes you mentioned.
