Atmospheric changes for breeding

Jaykis Feb 04, 2009 06:35 PM

We alll know that a rainstorm (or snow storm)will stimulate brreding im most pythons, but that's a small time period compared to the onset of rainy season in the tropics, and the duration of months. Has anyone done any studies to see if the prolonged time period is better? I'm thinking more about pressure changes than just rain, but rain/misting is also a factor. Tom Crutchfield, you should have some opinions on this

Honestly I think it depends heavily on the species/locale. Some regions will see little change, while other climates are a fairly dramatic seasonal change from winter to spring in terms of pressure fronts (esp tropical and sub/tropical) species. With that in mind, pressure fronts will have different "reactions" for different species.
