FR Feb 06, 2009 09:44 PM

I was out in the field today and saw two gilas and a large diamondback. Heres a scale picture. I hope you like it. Cheers

Frank, how often do you get out in the field? Seems like you would have a ton of stuff to do with the mice and the varanids, torts, and such! Nice pic.

As much as I can. It really depends on the year, dry years, not so much as wetter years. On wet springs, I am rarely at home. Cheers

How was the winter this year in terms of moisture, are you headed into a good or bad year there, would you say? I will be in Arizona in late August and am hoping for the best, naturally!

WOW, you guys are already getting stuff! I recieved a few calls earlyer in January when it was 85 degrees (So. Cal)for a week, but since the snakes have gone back into their dens! I am dying to take a few trips out toward wickenburg, cold creek, and carefree to try and find some gilas. I would love to snap some pictures of them in their natural environment!

Your a lucky man!!!

I think this will be a good year. I found this one in front of my house last year. I brought it in and put it on the kitchen table for photos. You know how my wife likes snakes, especially venomous ones on her table. This forums gotten better.
