White Lips cage type

Danne Feb 07, 2009 12:42 PM

So next year I'm moving out of my dorm room and my friends and I are getting a house, the snake possibilities are going to be huge! Haha. I plan to have a few BRBs and want to get a pair of trio of another species, I'm thinking WPIs or some kind of BCI morph (not that they're incredibly similar). I'm just wondering about the cage for them, are they more of an arboreal or terrestrial python? Also what other snake would you compare their temperament to, I've heard that they're pretty good out of the cage so long as they're not WC but 'good' can sometimes be relative

Well, I'm not sure about Wlps in rack systems, as it is unusual over here in Europe, but perhaps someone can tell more.
Because of their activity, I would recommend a large display cage about 5ft in length. If you get semi-adults, make sure to provide enough substrate so that they can dig tunnels. If you provide perches, they will be readily used, and often you see the WLPs hang around like GTPs.

Do yourself a favor and get WLPs. Forget about the boa morphs

Cheers,
Wulf

Thanks, they do seem like pretty killer snakes in terms of looks and personality. I'll probably have to build bigger cages for some female BRBs or larger ones, so I guess it won't be such a big deal doing it for these guys too eventually If it's too much of a hassle I'll put them on my ever-expanding "dream snakes" list to acquire later. Thanks!
