Male combat? Pic's

Joel_Thomas Feb 07, 2009 01:52 PM

I have had the smaller male in with a female and things have been pretty dull, so I introduced the larger male and Bammm!! things perked up immediately.

The original male and the female were both on the other side of the cage for days, as soon as the new male was put in both males went right under the light and started what looked like posturing at each other. At one point for a brief second they had there necks twisting together but no pushing or shoving.

I have never witnessed this in Boas to this degree before, has anyone else?

described but more often one has tried to breed the other although they are both proven males. Just the other day I put two in together while cleaning one's cage and he tried. The funny thing is the other never seems to mind. Funny snakes? They are intersting animals for sure. I love watching the different behaviors. I often just use a shed from another male. I have even torn one into 3 pieces to encourage more aggressive behavior. It usually works I have found but I know you know that.
