Male boas and breeding plans...

ilovemylizard Feb 07, 2009 07:05 PM

What to do about these crazy male boas, LOL...

These guys are a mystery for sure...

Put one boy in with the Suriname female I wanted him paired up with, he works for nearly a month but nothing happens and he ignores the female for weeks...so I pull him out to feed...then introduce him to a different female, and same thing, just wants to sleep on her...

Then another male, Mr. second choice for the Suriname, has been pushing on his tub lid like a madman trying to get out to someone, and so I figure I'll see if maybe it's the Suriname female...he was all over her...like in five minutes...

Of course now that the Suriname female is getting some love from another male, the boy that I really wanted with the Suriname, has now suddenly started courting the other girl he has been ingoring, LOL...

I'm not complaining; any babies are good babies, but these males sure have a way of wrecking the 'pairings' we have planned for them...

don't like ANYONE trying to control what we do. Maybe if you can convince them that you actually want them to pair up the way they are the will want to switch again. LOL A little boa reverse psychology. Best wishes!
