Stayed Quiet and Now Cannot.

madisonrecords Feb 08, 2009 08:26 AM

I have tried to sit back and keep my beliefs to myself as far as this " Ban on Exotics, " is concerned.

Watching this link in the A.M. this morning has lead me to want to speak, but only generally.

This link was on comcast news this morning concerning the illegal animal trade and even the legal animal trade and how it is also used to bring tons of drugs into the States and furthering their commitment to trying and force public opinion on this iussue in their favor.

Well, unfortunately there is nothing on this particular News Story, that is wrong!

The absolute rediculous " War On Drugs " has helped to cripple this country and keeps non-violent offenders " around a million " locked up in " Privately Owned Prisons, " DO THE RESEARCH!

Now, not only are they thousands and thousands of Imported animals that meet their death in captivity and deal with abuse, but they are also and have been for a very long time, many animals that are abused and mistreated horribly for the sake of " Drug Smugglers! "

It is WAY TOO EASY, for most of us to sit in our quiet and warm little cottages and complain about how the " Powers That Be " are trying to Ban Exotics and Non-Native Species, but most keepers have NO IDEA, the half arse care that these animals are getting and not to mention " how many thousands of animals are left to die because nobody wants them, because they are not the In THING and not as APPEASING TO THE EYE! "

REDICULOUS!

Fact is " the hobby has gotten way too big and now because of how large the Exotic Animal Trade has become, we have more people in it and with more people, comes more problems. "

Most of us may not have asked for it directly, but the REAL REALITY is; " we did ask for it, when you think about it from a common sense standpoint. "

THOUSANDS OF ANIMALS are abused and yes domestic animals are too.

However, we are not talking about animals that have been living with man for generations " not that from a moral standpoint it matters " we are talking about Wild Caught Animals, that are COMPLETELY mishandled and pretty much abused for the most part, until the ugly ones are left to die and the few pretty ones wind up in someones cage and usually die within a year! TRUE TRUE TRUE!

SUCK IT UP BOYS! IT WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN SOONER OR LATER!

Now, I am not as much angry as I may sound, just frustrated at the lack of good common sense in this world anymore, but I guess it takes a while " as it did me " to develope it for some and others may never have it?

So, I could go on for many many pages, but I will leave with this one thought and if I loose business or friends or aquantances, So BE IT, but sooner or later, we have to stand by what is right and moral and it took a long time for me to realize that in my life also.

This has very little to do with " Rights as an American Citizen and our freedoms, as most people have already sheepishly and ignorantly, gave allot of their freedoms up anyway, without even knowing it! "

This is about what is " Morally Right FOR OTHER SPECIES OF ANIMALS ON THIS PLANET AND YES, contrary to popular belief, there is more than just the Human Race on this planet that we are allowing to be destroyed because of our fat and lazy ways and cravings for MODERN CONVENIANCES! "

Stop the Importation of Animals from other countries except when to do so, would actually benefit the animal and man itself.

When this is done, the " Hobby " will weed itself out of most of the swindlers and the animals that are already in captivity, can be taken cared of by the serious and dedicated and supply people with quality captive born animals and have even a BETTER MARKET, than most would choose to believe and or except at this point.

STOP ALSO, the REDICULOUS and INTRUSIVE " WAR ON DRUGS " and treat and educate the addicts and get rid of all organized crime and street gangs as they are worse than the drugs themselves and start running this planet on Hemp again!

RESEARCH, EDUCATE and except the truth; " even if the truth interferes with your plans or cockamanny ideas of what you THINK, you deserve.

No more right now and I will not respond and get in any debates on this day.

Be Truly Blessed .........John J......" CONCERNED HUMAN "

always brings that out in people. You are exactly right about the "War on drugs" and how or rights and freedoms are being stolen and ignored. We are wasting $40 billlion a year locking up people for something that has been put her by God for us according to Gen 1:29 and is one of the most nutritious foods on the planet if not the most. Then there is the lost revenue of $15-20 Billion annually all while we let child molestors off on probation so we can lock up someone who isn't harming anyone. They have proved it kills cancer cells and helps many conditions but our government wants to waste our resources on raiding people who have a doctor's prescription and live in one of the 13 states where it is legal. They don't have anything better to do now then take away our pets? Everyone go to whitehouse.gov and send your comments about any and all issues it DOES make a difference. I could preach a 5 hour sermon but now and here isnt the place. I will be adding a page to my site soon though.

If one takes the time to read the bill, They should also think about the welfare of the animals. I remember the conditions of some of the exotic animal wholesale houses in south Florida back in the 80's

In fact I remember the smell that could be detected from the street. Imagine how they were being kept in the countries of origin with little to know regulations and inspections.

I worked with a retired Florida fish and game officer who did animal removal as a supplement to his income, we went to a school yard to remove some large snakes. Sadly there were 11 large Retics all dead and all had been cut open to remove some contents more than likely drugs.

I have had the mis-fortune to see just how low people will stoop to make a dollar.

I believe that most the people who choose to let a snake or any animal into the wild after the new has worn off, will more than likely purchased them at a pet store. I worked in pet stores for more than a decade in my younger days and pet stores count on the impulse buyer. Many pet store employees do not have the proper knowledge to sell such animals. There are of course exceptions as I know of a couple store owners that educate their employees.

Through the actions of the few, the masses will answer and in the end the few will still continue

Speak out.
