Fellow boaholic in our thoughts

skyslinger Feb 08, 2009 09:48 AM

Andy Fredrico is having back surgery tomorrow and I know that all wish him well. Just wanted to ask everyone to keep him in your thoughts and prayers. I am sure he will do "Incredible" like his boas.

I had no idea! Our thoughts and prayers are with him from my home as well... I hope he pulls through and his recovery time is short!
I actually have a female hypo/salmon I picked up from him as a baby years ago, who is due in the following weeks! So, even though I don't know him well or personally, he also has my gratitude for that beautiful lady! I hope he is back to conjuring up more amazing snakes in no time!

is a great guy and I am sure he will be up and going quickly. It just takes a while to get back 100%. I had a fusion of the lowest disk in 1996 and was out of the hospital in 4 days and war a back brace for 6 months and it took another 6 months to a year to be good as new. Unfortunately, I reinjured it 2 years ago and because of the rod and screws they put in the first time they cannot get clear pics with MRI and CT scans. That is okay though because prayers work and I am doing much better. I know Andy will too if we all add him to our list.
Thanks everyone for being such a great group of people and giving of the love inside of you. I KNOW Andy appreciates it. I look forward to hearing from him soon. I am sure everyone else does as well.

i can relate, 2 years ago, i had a triple fusion (L3,L4,L5 and C1) as well as a lamenectomy. my surgerys time was 7hrs 58 minutes, the killer of all that, i wasnt even 30 yet at the time. i wish him the best in his surgery. back surgery, isnt a quick (or sometimes even full) recovery

Thanks for the heads up Ty
Good Luck Andy I went through a similar surgery in sept. 2000 a two level fusion posterior entry.
Its not fun but the sooner you make yourself take those first few steps .
The sooner your recovery will come.
As soon as the Dr. comes in day after surgery he'll probably ask you to get up.
Just make yourself do it.

Andy has been a good friend of mine (online) over the last few years. I know that he has had back issues for awhile. This year has been particularly hard on him with other issues as well .
I had back sugery this past July, and I'm going back to work tomorrow for the first time since then, and I'm still daily in pain . It can be a long , hard recovery for some. And for others, it can be pretty quick .

Andy, we wish you well and hope that you're quickly back on your feet cleaning dirty cages full of baby goo . I'll be praying for you, and the doctors.

Hey Ty - I know of another "place" that he frequents, and has friends there. I hope that you don't mind if I share the news to his extended friends.

going back to work. Send me an email and I can give you some info on ways to promote self healing if you would like. That goes for anyone. Thanks for caring. Andy is a great guy. He probably isn't online today with surgery tomorrow but I will shoot him an email so when he gets it he will get all the warm wishes.
