I was looking for some personal experience, but relied on a Google search. Seems they are just fine. Since I sometimes see conflicting information on so-called caresheets, I prefer personal knowledge, but I guess there isn't enough traffic here to generate much of a response.
If someone thinks otherwise, please post. Thanks.
Dear blazer, I just don't know for sure...consider tortoises will eat a lot of things not necessarily good for them. And you are right about variations in care sheets/keepers/efficacy. I go by the diet recomendations of CTTC and Tortoise Trust and San Diego Turtle and Tortoise Society, because I have had good results. Moderation in all things works for diet. I have seen some big changes in herp care over the years, and tortoise diets especially. Some of the items we fed 40 year ago i.e. sunflower seeds sprouted are now frowned upon. With a varied diet, you probably wont' go wrong, even if it turns out radishes are not the best choice. I have fed a lot of turnips, which some folks frown upon, but I am unaware of any problems. We are all still learning. Vic H.
