Have them breeding right now. Even though much more common than any other species being bred in captivity, they are monitors, as such few are bred in captivity.

They're not. You just have to know who breeds what and wait a few months. I rarely post ads for my baby Red Ackies as they sell without having to say anything. Unfortunately, the stuff that's on the ad pages tends to sit on the ads for a long time as it's not the most desirable stuff. Not always of course, but most of the time.

Also much of whats for sale there is from retailers, is not such a good deal for price, and mostly WC imported animals. Unless you know someone who is specifically breeding them, it is hard to find them.
Sometimes reptile shows have them, I used to find yellow ackies for $125-$150 each, and was offered several at $100 each. For now Ill stick with my single red ackie, my last female has been in someone elses collection. I like my collection being small now, so much other stuff to do, so little time.

It's my understanding all ackie monitors are captive bred and not imported unless done so illegally.

The classifieds here in general and what is available there in general as the prior poster did. Most of whats advertised there is WC, and is difficult to weed through all of it to find something worth buying. Everybody there claims CB or CBB, but6s thats the sales pitch.
Yes, if you see ackies there they should be CBB, if not they would be very expensive and not worth the cost of smuggling them. Maybe more countries should have similar laws, we would mysteriously see much higher prices, and sooner or later lots of CBB babies of more species available.
I wouldnt spend my money to support people who sell WC animals, maybe they need to find a new set of skills to provide a living for themselves.

Yeah I guess you never really know for sure unless you bred it yourself. I tend to believe people when they say CB. Like at a captive bred herp show I would tend to believe they are all captive born because I can't really prove otherwise.

We have 5 clutches cooking now, but they never even make it to my price list, much less an online ad, as they sell out within 48 hours of becoming available.

It is all about timing, and patience : )
