Shedding questions

Hi, I recently got my first snake, a small (14-15 in.) male ball python. He started to shed and it's taking him quite a while. I'm keeping the temp up with a temperature gradient, and trying to keep it fairly humid as well. He's been at it for about 24 hours now. I was told that it's optimal when they can come right out of the old skin within a few hours. Thanks for the help!

This has also happened to me before. Try taking a buket or container with a lockable top. Place enough water to reach about half the hieght of your snake ( 1 inch or less ) and place it in the water. Then place the top on the bucket check on it every once and a while for about 30 min. At this point the skin should come right off. Dont worry the snake will not get stressed by this method and wont alow its self to drown as long as you kepp the water low enough. GL and happy herping
