Couple Texas Indigo pics

TaipanVenom Feb 09, 2009 05:24 PM

Here are a couple of pictures of the pair of Texas Indigos that I keep. These are incredible snakes and the only non-venomous that I own! They are both a little over a year and around 3 1/2 to 4 feet long. -Jamie

Nice animals. I like the light brown coloration on the heads. What line are they from?

I got them from Dr. Herrington. I'm not sure what bloodline he has. -Jamie

Small world! I got a pair from the same clutch from Bob Herrington, and mine have similar coloration. I thought yours had a familiar look to them. Great animals.

Nice Dry's
I have never seen Texas Indy's with that brown of a head either? Is that common?

it varies a little but that's pretty much the norm, larger adults may get an orange-ish tint on the cheeks and older adults darken facially with a body that looks perpetually in blue, light blue-gray.

That line has more brown in it than any other line I've seen over the years. Both of my animals have brown heads, very cool. The other lines I'm working with have much darker heads, which is more typical.

Thanks for the clarification on erebennus I guess I haven't seen enough hatchlings.... or any in person. I base it on observations from the peeps that work with them.
