Dwarf burms finally arrived

python2000 Feb 10, 2009 07:34 AM

They arrived one week ago, both are farm bred 07 from Indonesia and imported as hatchlings, sorry if i wrote Vietnam in last post. On CITES import paper there is written that imported animals are from Indonesia that were transported to Vietnam prior to shipping here, in Europe. They are a little more than 2 feet long
The female is pretty tolerant to handling and doesn't bite once out of her cage even if she is moving very fast and hissing a bit. The male is very aggressive.
Both ate a small rat last evening.

Nice...... has anyone noticed how in dwarf burms, the postocular stripe narrows significantly between the eye and nostril while it remains wide all the way in normal burms?

Cool. What size are those burms suppose to max out at?

Also, when crossed to a normal burm, would the offspring max out between the adult sizes of the dwarf and normal?

Thanks.

They will be between 6' ad 7' for females and around 4'-5' for males. Dwarf crosses adult size is not yet completly proven but as some breeders told me it will be different if the dwarf is the female or the male. If it's the male the offspring will reach a seze closer to normal burms but a bit smaller, it's supposed around 12' for females. If the female is dwaf it will be 8-9' for females. That would be due to eggs/newborn size and genetics that will be trasmitted deeply from the mother.
