hatchlings 4weeks old & not eating much

mlj Feb 10, 2009 12:18 PM

I have a clutch of dumerils that are 4 weeks old and still very passive eaters. They seem to eat just enough (a couple crickets every couple days), otherwise they are very alert, active, and show no signs of stress. At what age should I expect them to turn into eating machines, or should they have already? Thanks.

hi,

Where did you get them?
Did you breed them yourself? Are they Captive bred or farmbred?
It is wise to do a faecal exam.
I have seen subclinical coccidiosis and flagallate infections which can give these symptoms. If they are clean it is a husbandry problem. It could of course also be a combination of the 2. did you rase monitors before?
