LOOKING FOR MANDRIN NEWTS

sallie_keeper Sep 10, 2003 05:18 PM

Does Anyone know where I might find a pair of Mandrin newts?? I am in the Pacific northwest(US) and cannot seem to find anyone that breeds or even keeps these guys.. They are very pretty little guys.. And i would LOVe to try and breed them...

They are also called: Crocodile newts & Emperor Newts.

Thanks,
Harpy

i'm in san francisco and havn't seen any for sale for almost 6 years. Last time I saw one was at a small shop in Santa Barbara, but as i said, that was like '97.

I havn't seen any in the classified for years either.

If you find a supplier, over seas or what ever, let me know because i've been looking for a long long time.

They are amazing animals. I think because they are so hard to care for people stopped selling them. I don't know how others feel about this, but the comminuty helps by buying captive breed animals to keep species alive. I know mandrins aren't as plentiful as before. Would be be great if people could breed them.
