ok im just doing the reserch for my friend who is getting an ackie. Isnt a t foot tall cage 2 short because theyll be able to grap on to the screen with a foot of dirt. i would imagine it would also get hot, even with a screen which he is intent on getting because he dont want to spend 400 dollars on a cage.

No 2 feet is not too short if your cage is properly secure. Screen tops are horrible and should be avoided at all cost. Ventalation should be situated in such a way as to keep the heat and humidity in. I would recomend building a cage, it can be done for much less than 400 dollars and it will suit the needs of the monitor better if you do. Try searching the forum archives, there should be plenty of information there regarding caging.
