just some thoughts:
-try to make the pics without flash for an better color-result on the pics
-why could´nt this be an "Hypo"?

I think to be considered a hypo, a plains hog would have to be lacking quite a bit of black on its belly. This guy has alot, so I wouldnt say he could be.
