hey i keep leos and have pretty good success so far.a freind bought 2 way underweight babys from a petstore. one died the other is now in my care to try to fatten up....so i know leos usually dont eat for the first week or two however im concerened this lil guy may die before then if i wait. but if i force him to eat it only stresses him worse and makes it be longer till he eats. i have a picture to try and help you guys understand this pitifull lil guiys shape. thanks for the help.

Be sure to keep him in a seperate room from your other leos, as crypto and viruses can be airborne. Have you seen any stools or regurgitation in the enclosure?

OMG i cant beleive i forgot about crypto. he HAS been in the same room with my my lil baby chiwawawawa doggy, my bd's leos' uro's and right next to my ball python i have not seen stools yet ive had hgim a day now and was concerned and remember kingsnake had great people to always lend a helping hand when im in need. i do not have another room to keep him in, because i still live with my parents. (i guess these are the downsides to taking on a "rescue" when i may have taken more than i can handle.) i guess for now ill pray and hope crypto doesnt strike my crew i have birds in the living room or i might could take him there....crap well, thanks for the info though.

Cryptosporidium Serpentis should not kill a dog, it might make him sick though. I don't know about birds, they are more closely related to reptiles. I dn't think crypto is not fatal in all species of reptiles, but it is always fatal is leopard geckos. Good luck. Make sure you wash you hands thorougly after handling the baby.
