Gentilis ( this is a jaw dropper )

snake_bit Feb 12, 2009 11:58 PM

My buddy Paul brought a few of his snakes over to my place last night.
This female is about two feet long and was in shed when it was found so I haven't had much of a chance to see it out of shed.

Shes from central kansas

With flash

Noice the small black head cap and the red.I haven't seen many red heads from this far west.

And notice how clean she is

That's an understatement. That animal is incredible, wow. Nice find. Hopefully you have a similar looking male from that locality to pair up with her?

That animal's fantastic, Doug. Was that from the last year's trip? Dell and I flipped an awesome animal down there last spring, and maybe he'll post photos of it. Dell?

No the year before. This is the prettiest gentilis I have ever seen,as you know most gentilis turn from red to orange and then a faded orange. This one is still a perfect bright orange and has far less news then any adult I have seen. The photos don't do it justice.Where is that fishin' buddy of your ?

I know which one you're talking about Cole. Here it is. The photos are a little overexposed, but you can clearly see what a nice gentilis she was.

I think she looks just like the gentilis your posting Doug. Do you mind telling the county yours is from?

I have four of these Elsworth co. KS gentilis, and by the look of them they are going to be jaw droppers as adults.
But still have two years to go to get there. Time will tell.

That's the beast! Nice. Remember how friggin' exicted we were to flip that thing?! Nothing like a 2-man rock with a smokin' milk under it!

The Elsworth Co. critters are looking nice. Mine are growing like weeds.

Doug,
If you mean the four Elsworth co. gentilis, they are 07 hatchlings, and about 10" inches long. But a fat 10".
And I miss spoke, I only have three, 1.2, not four.

A gentilis version of the "hypo" red milks. Check out the colors around the eye, the clean pattern and the wide white... I think we can all agree that the "hypo" gene is different in those than most any other hypo gene.....just a thought.
