He died today

varanid Feb 13, 2009 02:02 PM

I checked in on the vet during my lunch break. She said he'd died while they were trying to collect other samples for biopses. I didn't get any details but I'll be going by tonight to pick up the body and get more information.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I know it's been quite an experience for you and nothing could ever replace your monitor. I know it doesn't lessen the pain or grief but sometimes these things are part of the learning experience. Not saying that anything was your fault, not at all, but - review, explore, & press forward! Keep your chin up!

Hang in there!

Yeah. I don't know if I'll keep another monitor anytime soon. I was really attached to george. Came home and saw his cage without him in it and broke down.

I don't know yet...I just don't feel like keeping a monitor right now. I may put together some sort of terrestrial desert lizard colony in the cage, maybe.

I tried to respond by email but I can't get through for some reason. I keep getting mail errors back?

I thank you for the offer but it is way too soon for me to get another monitor, espically a sav. Maybe in a few years but not right now.

Dear Varanid, He was pretty old. You did everything you could. He had a long life. And gosh I'm sorry.

When you are ready, and it might be sooner than you think, please consider him yours. Here is my email melissabishop@live.com
