DAMN IT

You know... just when I thought my day was going well...

My male just bit the female on the neck, and now there is a big ol' bruised lump on her neck. What the hell do I do now? They were getting along so well, you know I am getting tired of splitting them up, my patience is wearing thin. They'll settle in to their enclosure, and if he tries anything, I'll tap him on the head and say, "No." Soon they are very nice to each other for a while (few weeks), and then this sort of thing happens. This cycle is starting to piss me off.

Now they are basking together, with her head lying on his back (it's so cute), as if nothing happened. What gives? What kind of sick Ike and Tina turner @%!* is this? LOL

I'm not sure if this is true with uros but, when leos get ready to mate, the male will bite the females neck and try to put her into submission. Maybe he is courting her?

I dunno, He bit her hard on the side, not the top of the neck like you would expect in courting. Plus they are a bit too young, still 8 inches apiece.

I would like to know if anyone has had a similiar bruise occur and how long did it take to heal?
