New Spider

Tempo Feb 14, 2009 01:07 PM

Last weekend I went to NARBC and got my first ball from BHB Enterprises. A gorgeous male spider:

Someone said he was a bit skinny and I can see why that was said. He doesn't seem to be as round as he should be, so I'm going to try and put some weight on this guy.

I have a question: do spiders lighten in color as they age or do they typically remain the same?

Congrats on that little guy. I love the head pattern. I wouldn't say hes to thin. Can't see a ridge or spine running down his back. If he's a typical Spider he will be happy to eat. Pump him up and get him ready for next year. As far as color. We have 5 Spider females and 1 male from 5 different breeders. One male and one unrelated female have gotten darker over the past two years. The others have stayed pretty much the same. Maybe a little lighter even. Good luck and enjoy. I love Spiders! Jeff

Thanks!
He fed very readily, so hopefully I won't run across any problems with feeding with this guy.
