constipated

My retic is an 08 approximately 50 inches or so. He eats every four to five days and is housed in a large rubbermaid. His cage temps are 90-93 on the hot side and 80 on the cold and i mist him daily. The last time he defecated was about a week ago but it wasnt a whole lot. The last 12 inches or so to his cloaca look very tight and bloated. Im going to try to soak him tonight to see if that loosens him up. Hes going to shed soon, do you think that could be the problem? What other methods can be used to loosen him up. Thanks
Ryan

they usually defecate when they shed. mine always hold theirs until they shed. they will have a massive swelling at their cloacal vent, going into shed and during shed and then let loose with shed, massive urates and stool. and then i have one retic that eats and defecates like clockwork. he eats every 3 weeks (now that the spring is startin to settle in) and defecates 5 days later. i can set my clock by his schedule. its usually snake specific, some hold it between shed some go a few days after. i would soak the snake daily for a bit and he will probably go when he sheds
