baby female ball is getting grey spots and other markings??

denean Sep 10, 2003 07:51 PM

I bought a new normal baby girl in aug. She shed once and came out with a new grey spot on one of her yellowish spots on her back. She shed a second time and now the spot is bigger an lighter and now she has a light brown splotch on the dark brown area on the back of her head (a few other places too), some grey "streaks" on her neck and elsewhere (also some dark ones) and she is getting flecks of black that were never there before. She has not been injured and I don't handle her from the time she goes blue until a day or so after she sheds. I have been out of the snake loop for about 10 years (back when an albino ball was but a dream, I am in awe at what is availible now!), so please don't beat me up if this is something common. I am just wondering what she is up to... I don't think snakes get Vitilligo, do they Thank you for any info

since my palmpilot palmpix cannot focus close enough to show what I am talking about with any accuracy, the only other way I can think to describe it is this... look at the picture in the post above, now imagine the snake was made of cloth and it got splashed with drops of bleach. some bleach light grey and some bleach a wierd light brown. The grey streaks look like a axanthic ball dressed in a normal ball skin with little rips in the costume so the grey shows through. And as for the black flecks, they look different enough from the normal flecks that she already has that at first I thought they were mites.

I have a snake thats doing something similar. After last shed he developed a grey streak down its spine that I first thought was scarring. He also developed colorless patches near his tail. I am waiting to see what happens next shed...
