of a white oak phase crawling up a white oak tree. I guess I could do a search but was curious if anyone has similar pictures. Just was gonna show the camaflouge (probably spelled wrong) thing to some kids that love the snakes.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Gorgeous white-oak you have there Don. Mine has a few more years to catch up to your adult. You didn't happen to get yours from Dwight Good did you? Excellent pic. Steve
Here's is one of the pics out there I've seen of a white-oak climbing an oak. Look how those colors blend in almost perfect on the bark of that oak tree. Steve
ON second thought that tree looks to be a type of conifer. The ratsnake still blends in good with the bark, LOL
Steve
Cool picture. Here's a photo from late 2005, I think. Many the mouse in between now and then. I don't believe this guy has ever skipped a meal.

Awesome snake, awesome pic...thanks for posting.
They are really neat animals.
Although I started my colony from wild caught (to insure authenticity), the Gray on the oak (in situ) is still crawling around N FL to the best of my knowledge.
Here's another wild animal, though not in situ obviously (though it could have been found crawling on the motel paper towel
), that we rescued from the front door door of a motel restaurant and certain death. It was relocated 1/4 mile away.

That's a great looking specimen. Seems like a lot of the WC greys I have seen posted show a lot more brown than that one. Great job saving it!

Agreed.
This year I ended up giving my White Oak's offspring away for free.
But that's fine. I don't care.
No investment, no dividend. Seems fair.
"This year I ended up giving my White Oak's offspring away for free."
I meant "last year", obviously.
This guy is a pet to me. As he's gotten some size and become very tame, (OK, an occasional outburst), he's one of my favorites to handle.
"N.A. rats are awesome."
A verifiably correct statement. Love your White Oak...had one as a kid and will have one again someday. (when I get the room)
