i have two baby normals, was wondering not as a everyday diet but thier have trouble catching crikets and they dont care for meal worms so was wondering 3 or 4 times a week if wax worms would be fine to feed them so they dont lose weight, they do drink and eat the crikets when they can get them but it seems that thier cage may be to big(40g breeder) and the crikets run away then they get frustrated and give up...advice appreciated?

Waxworms are like candy to us. Sure you can feed it to them, but they'll get used to JUST waxworms and that's no good. Waxworms have a high fat content, but do nothing for nutrition. I suggest an alternative, perhaps even having a food bowl available for them that way they don't have to run laps in the cage trying to catch the crickets. with a food bowl you could pinch off the cricket's jumping legs and then just put those in the bowl for your geckos to eat.

Try leaving a bowl of mealies in with them at all times.. You say they don't care for them.. but eventually they'll learn they can catch those and they will eat them... All my hatchlings were started on mealworms just fine...

I had one of my gex hooked on wax worms and she was a nightmare to get eatting anything else. She got addicted to them very quickly and refused point blank to even look at another type of food.

Just leave mealies in a bowl and they will learn.
