I was given another skink a couple of days ago from some friends who kept him as a classroom pet. I've been trying to post some pics, but my cheap digital isn't working, so you'll have to wait for regular photo's! I know he is around 2 years old, but he is very, very small, only 212 grams, and about 12 - 14 inches long. His coloring is basically a yellowish creamy background with reddish brown bands on his back, no black outlines. His front legs are grey, and the hind legs speckled with black. No stripe behind the ear. Any theories? The poor thing only has about 3 toes all together! The rest were lost to improper care. So I've changed his name from "Snoopy" to "Stub"!! He's is eating well and has solid stools, though he is thin.
Also, do you think there is any chance of him catching up in size, or at least getting close to what he should be? My Northern is huge compared to this guy! And no, they will not be housed together!! It makes you wonder if breeding reptiles is such a good idea, when you see the kind of care some people give.
Thoughts?
Beth
