Can you produce an all black snake from a pewter x pewter breeding?
Yes, you have cinnamon or black pastel on both sides of the breeding so you can produce super cinnies/blacks.
N/P
Does anyone know what the potential outcomes are percentage wise? I have a pewter x pewter pair together myself.
I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to this as well. My square seems funky :-p

50% - Pewter
25% - Super Pastel
25% - Super Cinnamon or Black Pastel
Just did the Punnett Square, here are the odds (Sorry I don't know all the names to the morphs):
1:16 (6.25%) normal
1:16 (6.25%) Super Pastel Super Cinnamon
2:16 (12.5%) Pastel
2:16 (12.5%) Cinnamon
4:16 (25%) Pewter
1:16 (6.25%) Super Pastel
2:16 (12.5%) Super Pastel Cinnamon
1:16 (6.25%) Super Cinnamon
2:16 (12.5%) Pastel Super Cinnamon
1:16 (6.25%) normal
1:16 (6.25%) Super Pastel Super Cinnamon (Sterling Silver???)
2:16 (12.5%) Pastel
2:16 (12.5%) Cinnamon
4:16 (25%) Pewter (Pastel, Cinnamon)
1:16 (6.25%) Super Pastel
2:16 (12.5%) Super Pastel Cinnamon (Silver Streak)
1:16 (6.25%) Super Cinnamon
2:16 (12.5%) Pastel Super Cinnamon (Silver Bullet)
Also, relating to what even said, this only works if both pewters are similar (ie. either both cinnys or both black pastels). It you bred a pewter (black pastelxpastel) to a pewter (cinnyxpastel) these percentages would change and you would never get super blacks/cinnys in your square
Cinnys and Black Pastels are compatible, you get the dark super when you combine the two. In fact, I think it is preferred to reduce the chance of duckbills.
know that cinnys and black pastels share the same locus, similar to butter and lesser...interesting, do the super forms look identical (super cinny looks like black/cinny super looks like super black pastel)? Any pics? Is this true will all black pastel lines....have they even proven compatible with themselves?
thanks
I have heard the same thing about the cross reducing the chance of duck bill, but I don't really care for the Black Pastels although they make a great hypo. And technically a crossed super would create both in a clutch correct. And is that really considered a super? Does anyone consider a Mojave X Lesser cross a super? Just curious. Jeff
I try not to think about the breakdown of things like that very much. I tend to just wait for eggs to hatch. My head hurts already without help. E
And of course, (assuming I am using Black Pastel and Cinnyinterchangeably) the Super Cinnamon Pastel is called the Silver Bullet, the Super Pastel Cinnamon is called the Sterling, and the Super Pastel Super Cinnamon is called the Silver Streak.
You know what would be awesome? If someone could post some amazing comparison shots (of hopefully their own animals), of the three. Maybe even with a pewter too?
Anyone have pics of them all?

SUPER CINNY PASTEL= Silver Streak
Super Pastel Cinny= Streling Pastel
Super Pastels Super Cinny = Silver Bullet
Just wanted to add to this mistake
Now, when you say "Pastel" do you mean the Pastel or the "Black Pastel" morph? The regular Pastel morph will not create these combinations, correct?
Not my pictures or my snakes, but excellent examples.
Pastel

Black Pastel

SUPER CINNY PASTEL= Silver Streak

Super Pastel Cinny= Sterling Pastel

Super Pastels Super Cinny = Silver Bullet

I'm forever confusing the names! I confused the Silver Streak/Bullets. Thank you for the correction to the both of you and thanks for the beautiful photos. Now I know. Learn something new everyday

Not sure about that but I know that if you breed a cinny X cinny you get a very dark brown snake as the cinnys super form.
