Youngest age to determine sex?

beardie4u Feb 17, 2009 01:07 AM

I have an almost 8 week old baby dragon and it appears to me to be a female. At what age can you be 99%-100% sure? I have not been around a lot of hatchlings but can easily see the difference on most dragons I have checked. Just curious to know how much they can change.....is it safe to assume it is a female at this age....we would like to name her.

At over 6-7" if you know what you're looking for you can be pretty much 100% accurate.

When you say 6-7" is that nose to tail or nose to vent?

Total length, nose to tail tip. It takes some experience at that size though.

Yeah, Mine are all that size now and all look like females. That are all housed together in 4's and are all getting along really wel so i might be right, But I doubt it.
