Feeding pork

nprifenbark Sep 10, 2003 08:55 PM

I have about 30 pounds of ground wild boar that I shot a few months back. I've been trying to dump it on people before it sucumbs to freezer burn, when I thought of my chacoan, Dante. I was wondering if I could substitute this pork for the turkey in the SDZ diet? Right now he's only a baby (17 inches total length last time I checked), so I'm not sure if this is appropriate yet, if ever. Thanks.

Neil

i think it would be fine if you only feed 1-2 times a week. as long as you didnt add anything to it. such as salt, too much salt in a lot of the meats and it will dehydrate tegus REALLY fast. you might wanna freeze it for a solid month as that seems to get rid of any bacteria or parasites that might be in the meat.
