Feeding Question

Cheesemonkey Feb 17, 2009 03:53 PM

Hope this doesnt sound like a stupid question but if i feel i need to ask then i will do so. Is it ok to feed my snake while in shed?. As his previous shedding happened between feeding but this time his 3rd day milky has fallen right on feeding day.

You can feed wouldn't hurt anything. I always look at shedding as a time for rest for them. I usually wait till there shed is over to feed them.

typically not an issue in so much as I doubt it can hurt them.....

In my experience they generally will not eat when shedding so you end up wasting money. I have had a few real go getters over the years that would eat even in the blue but this is the exception.

IMHO we as keepers get too hung up with ridged feeding schedules.

i would think that no food at this time would be wise but i offered him anyway and he took from now on though i will just wait till after shed thanks for the input guys

...Do it. My Gophers won't turn away a meal even in blue.

The title to that last post was supposed to be "IF He'll Eat...".
