Tree limbs for climbling...

jpk4 Feb 17, 2009 11:35 PM

Hi guys, just thought I'd ask what you guys have used for branches for snakes to climb on. I have a pretty large enclosure, almost 3 feet tall to give my gf's BRB a chance to climb, and was wondering what to use.

I've read about using pvc pipe, but I think I'd rather use actual tree branches if that could work.

thanks for the help.

You can use anything, like 2x2's or even 1x4 shelves.

BRB's are ground-dwelling by nature, whereas the boa constrictors found in the same habitat will make use of trees at times. So I doubt you'll see the snake resting in the branches. He might use them to try and find a way out.

brbs are commonly found in shrubs and low branches.. they don't tend to go very high - but saying they are strictly ground dwellers is not accurate.

If you put shelves or branches in a brb cage, they will use them...
