I have read a lot on the subject but i can not decide if it is better to heat a carpet pythons cage from an above heat source or an UTH. My ambient temps are 75 with a UTH right now. What do you think?

Well I look at it this way, which way does the suns heat come from?
I always use under cage heating. It allows for better temp gradiants.

I feel RHP's are more natural and can achieve an acceptable temp gradient while encouraging more natural thermoregulation and a more active captives...but then again, we could debate this forever.
BTW, the heat tape works great in my racks!
