Shannon what Cal king locale is that in your photo? Looks to dark to even be from the Long beach area.

I am really liking these "grease kings" posted here lately. I think I will be looking to purchase some this year.

Its a Yuma king.

That individual is similar to the founder of high whites and high yellows. It was supposely collected in the California City area around 1967. It was taken to Ray Folsums(Hermosa Beach Reptile and wild animals)(I worked there at the time) and was purchased by Big Larry(Valentine) A couple of years later, he gave that snake to me, and the rest is history.

I do have pics somewhere, my individual had a little less black and was cleaner white. Overall, the same type of local morph. Nice find and cheers

"he gave that snake to me, and the rest is history"

Wow!

Why do you even post like this? your post has no meaning what so ever, other then you have some personal problem with the world and those that came before you.

The TRUTH is, that king was the key to high yellows and high whites, AND THAT IS HISTORY.(for that captive morph) For darn sakes Tony, you guys go on and on about Fla king morphs and how they came about. So why can't we do that with Cal kings. Cheers

That was a gut response Frank. I was irritated at something else was taking a little momentary solace here (imagine that) and reacted negatively. I apologize.

FR,
That snake wasn't found too far from California City. It seems that that is fairly representative for kings in that area.

Shannon,
We should meet up in that area when the times are right.

Great looking King. Is that King from this year? I thought that area might still be too cold. That Cal City and surrounding areas is one of my fave places to herp.

Saw where you said it was from last year. Shouldn't try to read/post while eating dinner. Here's one I found around there.
