femoral pores blocked?

Lisabeth Feb 18, 2009 08:14 AM

Hi,
I just saw my friend's bearded dragon yesterday and he has something blocking his femoral pores...I know beardies can secrete a substance (not sure what exactly) by these pores, but it was like a hard paste and maybe 1/10" long. I didn't want to hurt him so I thought I would ask if someone know how to remove it.
It's a 2 years male by the way.
Thanks a lot,

The white waxy substance is what the pores secrete. Your description sounds totally normal.

Ok, but is it going to go away alone? or it's normal if it stays there...?
My male doesn't have this, and it was the first time I saw this, that's why I was worried.

Thanks a lot,

It's different from dragon to dragon. Some of mine the secretions are very hard and look like little white teeth. Seems to be harder and more noticeable in older dragons.
