Freight,
I think these guys are my favorite Gony's, The green straight to gray is really impressive.
Those janseni aren't to bad either especially that white male. I'm glad to see somebodies making these available CBB not just CH.
I'm not a huge fan of the hybrids but to each his own, I just think the locales can represent well enough on their own, and I hope Chris can help you post pics in a non obtrusive way...lol.
Keep up the good work and you need to start posting picks of those other wicked cool colubrids you have.
Nate
Other colubrids....

Stupid Patron, makes my post look dumb!
Nice sulphureus! You had the c/h babies correct?? How are they doing for you? They actually look a fair amount like the Sulawesi janseni.
Freight,
The sulphureus are doing great now. The female was a nightmare to get started but is finally taking anything off the tongs. I do think they look similar to the janseni with brighter yellow of course. I may be trying to breed some WC's in the next few months.
Nate
I neglected to mention that the hybrids were my first attempt at Gonyos, and a complete accident! They are very easy to deal with, hearty, eat well, and appear much stronger than most of the other Gonyos. There has been some blue showing up in the F2's, and its possible we'll see more in upcoming generations. They literally stop people in their tracks at shows, and command a much higher price here in the states than Indo oxies ever will.
Its possible that someday the taxonomic work will be done to find out if the black Seleyar janseni is a jansen, or an oxy, and we may find that the hybrids aren't exactly hybrids after all!
No problem Freight, I personally think any healthy Gony will attract some attention, especially true CBB specimens. Maybe your just pulling out the hybrids more often at shows?
Your right with all the taxon changes happening these days it wouldn't surprise me if it went back and forth several times.
Nate
Honestly, I've never seen so many people (reptile experienced, or not) stand in awe of anything at a show like the hybrids. They look great on film, but even a good picture doesn't catch the full patent leathery shine of their skin, and the true contrast of color. I never expected people to have such an appreciation for them given I see them every day, but the overall response has been quite positive.
Your correct in that people see a pretty green snake and stand in awe to some degree, and the Gonyos do get their share of attention. One thing that helps is that we take them out and handle them at shows.
The black jansen is too similar to the Indo oxy for that similarity to be discounted. Coupled with the fact that I have had tremendous success breeding hybrids from both, and very poor success breeding hybrids from both the janseni I'd saw the black janseni is a far better fit with the oxycephala. I do have janseni X janseni babies, but rarely get more than 3 fertile eggs per 8-10 egg clutch. I just hatched the first every completely healthy JanX a few weeks ago.
