equate bedding spray???

aries_dolphin Feb 23, 2009 04:51 AM

who here has used this equate bedding spray to treat/prevent mites? I heard that it is safe, it has the same active ingredient as Provent-a-mite, but I just wanted some re-assurance. It's so much cheaper to buy equate. I was reading some articles that state the inactive ingredients may be harmful to reptiles, but I'm not sure who to believe.

Thanks =)

I haven't had mites in years (knock-on-wood). I used it to eliminate some mites i picked up back then with no ill effects to the treated animals, and it was very effective. I learned about it from a friend of mine who wheels-n-deals more than I do, he uses it regularly.

It is a petroleum based product and provent-o-mite is not, I have found a much better and safer product to use that can be aplied right on the snake and cage.

I will send a link to all who are interested, just contact me through the forum.
