You get those great colors by paying up for the dragons and then keeping them nice and healthy. It depends on what phase you got when you purcased it. If it was a normal phase chances are it will stay the same color. Proper heat, cage lighting, diet and some natural sunlight will help keep you dragon as colorful as possible.

The colors are cool but out of all the colorful dragons I have, my least colorful guy is my favorite. Shoot for personality, size, and appitite, then color.

Picking a colorful baby is a good start. Loki was a nice yellow when I bought him at about 6 months old so it was pretty clear what he was going to look like, but looking at pics when I first got him it seems he has come along a little since then and is actually prettier than he was when I got him. Good Diet, temps, UV and lifestyle are obviously treating him well!
I hear that beta carotine can also help a little if you can get your dragon to eat carrots or squash. My guy loves yellow squash and he keeps getting yellower!
