Beardie Licking the floor?

My beardie likes to lick the floor when he is in a new area. Does anyone else have this going on? Why does he do this? Seems weird.

Always! All of them. Lick everything new they come in contact with. Not positive why, guess thats just how they test things out.

On the roof of their mouth is what's called a Jacobson's organ. They lick then touch the roof of their mouth to smell.
