I did holes too.......

I use aspen

my room is HUMID in the summer....

hole number depends on hole diameter too.......

1/4 inch works.....drill works....place something under it while drilling (ps...NOT your hand)....(wood, I nail a piece of 2 x 4 to a work bench and let tubs hang on it while I hold and drill)

....holes all around...one good straight row....every ? 2 inches?.....easier and prettier than a whole lot on the ends.....

I always do holes, and a $5.00 wood burner from Wal*Mart or Target should do the trick. Works for me and bites through plastic forever!
