question for Chris Harper..........

BobS Feb 23, 2009 07:29 PM

Hi Chris,

I'm trying to make use of a variety of those commercial Exxo-terra caves/ hides. I know, But sometimes corkbark and PVC get old even if they do work a lot and I can't personally make anything that looks better. It's nice to have a few cages that sort of look nice.

My question.

I picked up some black plexiglass and some plain old 1/4" plywood to experiment making levels inside the commercal caves/hides for the snakes to cram themselves into. I've been experimenting with those silly craft hot glue guns. Is there anything toxic about those glue sticks around snakes.

I looked at "GOOP" at home depot after reading some of the posts here but the warnings on the container said not to use it for animals.

I got that ARS 7010 delivered and I'm checking it out. Thanks for your advice with that!

Thanks again.

Bob.

I have heard of Goop being used in animal enclosures. I would not hesitate to use it myself but that does not mean you should.

The basic white glue sticks is identical to what some dental orthotics are made from. If it sticks I think it's a good choice.

A lot of companies say their product should not be used around animals not because it's not safe but they just don't want the liability.
