Hi, I'm wondering what would be a good, first aboreal gecko to have that is relatively cheap? I'm not new to keeping reptiles so husbandry requirements isn't an issue.Thanks.

Day geckos (phelsuma) are nice and active. They were one of my firsts, and one of my favorites. Leopard geckos are also a great begginer. Check out the leopard gecko forum on kingsnake.
Depends on wether you want something really cool and unique to look at or just want one to handle and play with. I'll tell you right off the bat that you have many more non-holding choices.
Those are hardy, arboreal geckos. They handle well too. But they are a bit expensive. Day geckos are pretty hardy too but they're not for holding. Also a bit expensive. Tokays are pretty cheap, very hardy, but mean as hell. If it doesn't try to bite you when you pick t up then it's sick. = P
