Latest Update on Nyoka

oc-balls Feb 24, 2009 11:42 AM

Well, it’s been almost a month since Nyoka got nailed by the rat, and I’m glad to say, she’s much better now!

She’s back to her frisky self, and is back on her breeding cycle. She even ate for me last night. It was the first time I offered her food, since the attack, and she took it after just a slight hesitation. It was her first p/k rat, but she took it, and I’m glad for that! She’s always been one of my best eaters!

Below are some before, during, and after pictures.

Well,

When people ask how and why we own snakes this example to me ranks high up there. I really commend you on your caring for your injured snake. I have had to inject antibiotics into the mouth of a sick snake and there is nothing better than watching the animal heal and become your loving pet. I am really happy for you and really do feel the joy with you.

Best regards,
Bill

Thats really nice to see. Good job! Are you going to continue feeding live? Have you tried to feed yet?

Thanks!

Her first and only meal since the attack was a small p/k rat. It went pretty well.

I tried p/k with the others, and there were no takers (except for my little 08' Mojave), she's a chow hound! I'll try again next week.
