I'm curious

exitree Feb 24, 2009 09:25 PM

How common is it for a female to not become gravid even though copulations are observed? I have two normal females (2700 g and 3100 g) I've observed both locking up with males (a spider and a pastel het ghost) and I was curious what my chances are of actually striking out and not getting any eggs from one or both of them. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks

Have they ever lead eggs before or will it be there first time to breed ? David

It'll be my first year. One of the females laid 9 good eggs last year for the previous owner and the other female is a virgin( or at least she was).

Well if the male is producing viable sperm it should take especially for the female that has lade before and if not I would be more inclined to look at the male , as at least one of your girls is a proven breeder . David
