Sunlight photos

snake_bit Feb 25, 2009 12:37 PM

The sunlight sure improves the color of a red snake. The dirt background helps too.He may have held still so well because of the 42 degree temps in my back yard

You guys ever use those sun difusion screens?

Doug, great snake! That's why I always take pics of my animals on cloudy days!! I think you get the best chance of capturing what the snake really looks like that way...here are a few old pics, I need to take more on the next cloudy day here...

Love that sinoloan
and I like the natural setting of your hand LOL

More natural hand photos

At least the hand gives the viewer some idea of the size of the snake.
The snake in this photo is only about 10 inches long but looks bigger here.

Now that you mention it, cloudly or overcast days is a great idea.I remember a photographer I knew telling me the best light to do pictures in is late afternoon early evening.

Not easy to hold those guys from moving so they get pissed off.Joe did you notice the thread on "Using a Flash" over in the kingsnakes forum vanished? I was reading through it and when I hit return it was gone.I dont understand why they take something like that away from us.

Jeez Doug, from the luck you're having with those guys, I strongly recommend avoiding water snakes!
The syspila is super!
