8ft female shedding monthly. Why?

treeboa Feb 28, 2009 12:23 AM

I have an eleven year old, 8ft Colombian female that has been shedding monthly all winter. She is still feeding, but not as aggressively. I did find a few mites on her and I'm treating her for those. She does not have any signs of a respiratory infection. Her temps were sub-par at the beginning of winter (she's in a new cage), but they were corrected within a week. Any help would be appreciated.

The mites are causing her to shed pretty certain. In the wild its one way they can get rid of pests like ticks etc... by shedding and crawling away.
