I know this is a touchy subject but who has any in their collections. I'm from Colorado where they originated from and legally collect my bag limit every year. Weld county! Just curious....

Does that infer you have some in your collection?

The only one left that I know of is at a zoo. I forgot which one, but it is not even on display there last I heard.

found this info in an other forum:
"One is in Denver zoo. Not on display though!"

There are a couple at the Sonoran Desert Mueseum on Display also in Tucson.
I also know that they are breeding some at the Denver Zoo and they will be in Collections in the future.
There are still some hets floating around here and there also.

Yea my friend works at tropical discovery at the Denver Zoo. Rumor is that bushmaster reptiles will acquire them when they are available. I was just wondering if anyone still had any of Brooks stock. There is still some grey area if we Colorado locals can breed and sell hognose morphs here. It sure would be nice!

If I may...........Why is this a touchy subject? Just curious. They're a beautiful creature. If it's something no one wants to discuss on the board, please feel free to PM me.

If you do a search on the forums you will find the whole story.

In a nutshell, the person who collected the first one (hatched it from a WC gravid female) got arrested on drug and gun charges, the state claimed the Hognose was collected illegally (which it was not), got a list of all of the buyers, raided their collections and confiscated everything they could find related to the leucistic westerns.
