I have a problem

kellybee Mar 01, 2009 11:47 AM

Hello kids, long time no speak... hope everyone is ok?

I have a little question for you. I know my questions are usually weird, and this is no exception so here goes...

I have got a Lucky herp incubator/fridge that my collareds have been sleeping soundly in at 5 degrees for the last 3.5 weeks. I woke them up this morning for a drink of water, and found that two of them a new mex and a texan both female have developed orange bars. Needless to say I have woken them up, but I never saw this happen before. Does anyone know why or how both these females have done this at such cold temperatures on the same day??

Thats a typo, right? LOL!

I can't be of any help. I just brumated mine for the first time.

Yes it is a typo, its 6 degrees (6.4 to be precise) above freezing and they have not lost a single gram between the seven of them....

That's interesting. They should be okay to stay in there a few more weeks but keep us posted if the orange gets brighter. Mine usually take about a month out of brumation before they start showing colors.

Thanks Will, You think they're ok then? I was just surprised that a) they would start ovulating at such cold temps and b) it's more than one!

They are good weights, and I've been grouting my vivs, so I wanted to finish that before I woke them up but I left them at room temp since yesterday so if you're sure I'll put them back in for a few weeks
