What a day! After a long time of absolutely no apparent interest in breeding, I walked in this morning and found my two big coastal carpets locked up!
Yesterday I took in a male Jungle-Coastal intergrade that I am foster-homing for a rescue group here. He needs some serious care, but that's another story.
I think the presence of another male must have gotten my Escondito going! They stayed locked up all morning and were still at it when I left for work!
Finally! I have been really hoping to get eggs from these two. Girlie is a really beautiful animal and Escondito is one of the biggest coastals I've ever seen. (Why is his name "Escondito"? That's also for another story for another day).
I was even starting to wonder if I had two females.
Well, it was a picture-perfect lock-up. Sorry no pics, but I didn't want to disturb them.
But the Mystery is Solved....Escondito is a boy! Now I guess I just gotta wait and see what happens.
Here's some pics of the beautiful couple!
